David Bowie's first grandchild born six months after Bowie's death

NEW YORK, July 30 (UPI) -- Filmmaker Duncan Jones has announced the birth of his first child, a son.

The baby's birth came six months after Jones' father -- music icon David Bowie -- lost his battle with cancer at the age of 69.

"Stenton David Jones. Born July 10th, exactly six months after his grandad made room for him. Love you both so," Jones tweeted Friday.

"All my love and awe to the incredible @rodeneronquillo who made a human being in her belly. Warrior woman & every day, my hero," said another post directed at his wife, photographer Rodene Jones.
