NICE, France, July 16 (UPI) -- Hollywood film icon Sylvester Stallone shared a selfie of him in Nice on the evening an alleged terrorist drove a truck into a crowd, killing 84 people and hurting scores of others.

"Sadly, this was just moments before that horrible, cowardly attack in Nice France," Stallone tweeted Friday.

The message includes a link to an Instagram photo of Stallone saluting with fireworks lighting up the night sky behind him.

The Rocky and The Expendables star did not offer details regarding why he was in the French city or how he escaped danger.

The attack happened as revelers celebrated France's Bastille Day. The Islamic State has claimed one of its soldiers was responsible for the deadly rampage.
