NEW YORK, July 12 (UPI) -- Legendary Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, who stumbled off stage, then was hospitalized over the weekend, is expected to rejoin his second band Hollywood Vampires "soon," the band's publicist said.

"Joe Perry will rejoin his fellow Vampires on stage again soon," said publicist Sujata Murthy.

No specifics were released about what caused the health scare.

Aerosmith's Tom Hamilton tweeted about Perry Monday, saying he was on the mend. "Thankfully, Joe seems to be better than we all first feared. Here's hoping he's back on stage soon doing what he loves to do!"

Murthy said the rest of the all-star band, which includes Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper, will continue their tour starting July 12 at the Fraze Pavilion in Kettering, Ohio.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer stumbled, then collapsed just off the stage during a performance in New York Sunday night and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

A fan's video captured the 65-year-old guitarist and longtime member of Aerosmith having to sit on the drum riser during a song at New Ford Amphitheater in Brooklyn. A few seconds later, he stopped playing and stumbled off stage where he lost consciousness. EMTs on site revived Perry and took him to a Brooklyn hospital.

Alice Cooper also tweeted that Perry is doing better and thanked fans for their support.

"He is stable right now, with family & is under the best care," Cooper said.
