'West Wing' vets applaud theme song's use for Miranda's last 'Hamilton' hurrah

NEW YORK, July 10 (UPI) -- Several cast members of The West Wing reacted enthusiastically to the use of the patriotic theme music from their iconic political drama during Lin-Manuel Miranda's final bow at Broadway's Hamilton.

Miranda -- the creator and star of the 11-time, Tony Award-winning show -- played his last performance Saturday night. The musical is about the founding fathers of 18th-century America.

"I LOVE that @Lin_Manuel took his final bow for his masterpiece, #Hamilton to the #WestWing theme. #proud," Rob Lowe tweeted.

"Fantastic. Fitting. Final," said Joshua Malina.

"My mind is blown. I love you Lin!!!The power of an idea. My god," chimed in Bradley Whitford.
