NEW YORK, July 8 (UPI) -- Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton are set to face off at WWE SummerSlam, the company announced Thursday on Smackdown. "The summer of dream matches continues Sunday, Aug. 21 when Randy Orton returns to the ring to lock horns with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam," WWE noted in a statement.

The bout will be only the second time the two competitors have met in the squared circle with Lesnar previously besting The Apex Predator back in 2002 when they were both WWE rookies.
Orton, a 12-time World Heavyweight Champion known for his devastating and sinister fighting style, can now exact revenge against Lesnar who has become WWE's resident Beast incarnate.
The match will be Orton's first since injuring his shoulder back in November and will be Lesnar's first WWE appearance following his upcoming return to UFC against popular slugger Mark Hunt at UFC 200.
Recently Lesnar was revealed as the cover star for publisher 2K Sports' upcoming video game, WWE 2K17.
