David Foster's daughters dismiss Yolanda Hadid's illness: 'You're not dying'

LOS ANGELES, July 1 (UPI) -- David Foster's children are weighing in on Yolanda's Hadid's chronic illness.

Sara and Erin Foster, two of the musician's five daughters, dismissed Hadid's struggle with Lyme disease in an interview this week following the reality star's split from their father.

"Only she knows her journey, but what I will say is if you're capable of continuing to be on a reality show, you're not dying. Let's be honest," Sara said on Jenny McCarthy's podcast, Dirty, Sexy, Funny.

"Again, we are not doctors. We have no idea what goes on, and we don't wish anyone ill will of any kind," Erin qualified. "However ... if anyone's ever known someone who is very sick, who has cancer, who is dying ... [they know] the only thing that person gives a [expletive] about is getting through the day and being treated normally."

"No one wants everyone to know how sick they are and everyone to see how much they're struggling," she said. "When that seems to be the focus, making everyone see how sick you are, that's just confusing to someone who's trying to be supportive."

Hadid has been vocal about her condition since her diagnosis in 2012, sharing her journey on social media and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She had announced her departure from the Bravo series prior to the Fosters' interview.

"I believe that every exit is a new entry and with that in mind I say goodbye to my @Bravotv family as I continue to focus on my recovery, my children and bring back the privacy within our home," the star said this month.

Hadid has faced much skepticism from the public and her Real Housewives co-stars about her illness. She will release a book, Believe Me: My Battle with the Invisible Disability of Lyme Disease, in February 2017.
