LOS ANGELES, June 29 (UPI) -- The Backstreet Boys -- part of the 1990s boy band craze -- is releasing a new album this summer.

The band, which still owns a huge fan base from back in the day, has been appearing on shows such as the Miss USA 2016 pageant and recently announced a residency in Las Vegas for a series of concerts, Time reported.

Two members of the five-man band -- Brian Littrell and Nick Carter -- teased the new album on Instagram Tuesday, first announcing they will be featured on a Florida Georgia Line single slated for an August release, with Carter adding "Also working on the new backstreet album as well. Get ready!"

Carter, in April, confirmed the band was planning a limited Las Vegas concert residency and possible tour with the Spice Girls.

"We actually are going to do nine shows coming up, within the next six, seven months. A trial run in Las Vegas and if people show up and Vegas likes us, then we will do a residency later on."

Band member A.J. McLean said in May that the band doesn't have a record company and is doing the album on its own, Billboard reported.
