NEW YORK, June 27 (UPI) -- WWE's resident Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar has been announced as the cover star in publisher 2K Sports upcoming video game, WWE 2K17.
The cover was revealed Monday in a live-action trailer that featured the former WWE and UFC World Heavyweight Champion being hyped up by his advocate Paul Heyman as he prepared for a match.
"You are cordially invited to the most dangerous place on earth," Heyman says in the clip before a street sign for Suplex City is revealed. "So be like the Undertaker, be like John Cena, be like Seth Rollins, be like Goldberg and feel what its like to be victimized in Suplex City," he continues listing off a number of WWE Superstars Lesnar has defeated.
"@WWEgames finally wised up and put The Beast on the cover of #WWE2K17," Lesnar wrote on his official Twitter account alongside an image of the cover.
"My career has been defined by dominating every opportunity presented to me," Lesnar also noted in a press release. "I am excited for my newest opportunity representing WWE 2K17 as the franchise's ambassador and honored to serve as the WWE 2K17 cover Superstar."
"Brock Lesnar's unmistakable talent, no-holds-barred mentality and unequivocal determination perfectly complement 2K's commitment to authentically represent WWE at the absolute highest level," added Vice President of Marketing at 2K Chris Snyder. "With Suplex City as the ultimate backdrop and the 'Beast Incarnate' in charge, WWE 2K17 will come to life with an incredible roster and to-be-announced features like never before."
WWE 2K17 is set to arrive on October 11, 2016 for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
In May, retired Superstar Goldberg was announced as a playable character for those who pre-order WWE 2K17.
