Jennifer Carpenter, Seth Avett get married during private ceremony

CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 20 (UPI) -- Actress Jennifer Carpenter and Avett Brothers frontman Seth Avett have officially tied the knot.

"We can confirm Seth Avett and Jennifer Carpenter were married in North Carolina over Memorial Day weekend," a rep for the Avett Brothers explained in a statement to Entertainment Tonight.

According to Us Weekly, a source close to the couple noted that the ceremony was "small and private." "They're incredibly happy to be married," they added.

Carpenter, 36, and Avett, 35, who welcomed their first child together in 2015, started dating in 2013 following the rocker's split from his wife Susan Avett. Carpenter was previously married to her Dexter costar Michael C. Hall from 2008 to 2011.

Rumors began swirling that the couple were official married when Avett was spotted wearing his gold ring while on tour with his band. On the Avett Brothers official Instagram account, the rock star can be seen wearing it as he was photographed preparing for a show in St. Louis.
