NEW YORK, June 13 (UPI) -- Keri Russell returned to the red carpet Sunday after welcoming a new baby in May.

The 40-year-old actress attended the 2016 Tony Awards less than three weeks after giving birth to her first child with partner and Americans co-star Matthew Rhys.

Russell stunned in a red Monique Lhuillier gown with silver embellishment. The actress, who starred in the 2007 movie Waitress, introduced the musical adaptation at the ceremony, where it was nominated for Best Musical.

"I'm so happy our film is now a romantic, funny and uplifting musical that celebrates friendship and motherhood," she said. Waitress lost to Hamilton, which won 10 other awards at the show.

Russell is also mom to 9-year-old son River and 4-year-old daughter Willa with ex-husband Shane Dreary, from whom she split in 2013. She and Rhys have yet to announce the name and sex of their newborn.

"Keri and Matt both look overjoyed and are over the moon to be new parents," a source told Us Weekly after the baby's birth. "They are always snapping pictures of the baby, and family and friends have been sending gifts."

Russell and Rhys co-star as Elizabeth and Philip Jennings on The Americans, which aired its Season 4 finale last week. The FX series was renewed for two final seasons in May and will come to a close with Season 6 in 2018.
