Dakota Johnson splits from boyfriend Matthew Hitt

LOS ANGELES, June 8 (UPI) -- Dakota Johnson and boyfriend Matthew Hitt have reportedly called it quits.

News outlets reported the 26-year-old actress and 29-year-old singer have split after two years of on-again, off-again dating.

"They didn't get a chance to see much of each other recently because their work schedules didn't align," a source told Just Jared. "She's been up in Vancouver shooting the Fifty Shades trilogy."

Johnson was spotted on the Fifty Shades Darker set with co-star Rita Ora last week. Hitt, meanwhile, is busy with his band, the Drowners, who are touring the United States before dates in Australia and the U.K.

The Fifty Shades star and Hitt were first linked in 2014 and previously broke up last year. The pair seemed the happy couple when they were spotted holding hands at a Met gala after-party in May.

Johnson told The Telegraph she was focusing on her career following her prior split from Hitt. The actress will reprise Anastasia Steele in the highly anticipated Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.

"Luckily I've such a distraction in my job at the moment that I don't think about men very often," she said in February. "All of my focus is on my job."

Fifty Shades Darker co-stars Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey and opens in theaters Feb. 10, 2017. Johnson is also slated for the thriller Suspiria with Tilda Swinton and the crime drama Under the Silver Lake with Andrew Garfield.
