CULVER CITY, Calif., June 6 (UPI) -- Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have dreamed all their lives of being named "Guys of the Decade," they said Saturday night. And it happened.

The close pals took the top award during Spike's 10th Annual Guys Choice Awards, People reported.

"I think it goes without saying that this is an award Matt and I have been dreaming about since we were little boys," Affleck, 43, said in his speech, filmed in the Sony Studios in Culver City, California. "I did Gigli and Matt did that Liberace movie and all of a sudden it all seemed out of reach. Then I did [Batman v Superman] and all of a sudden it was back in reach again."

"Now we're the ... coveted Dudes of the Decade ... the Guys of the D—heads?" he continued. "What is it?"

"No, the D—heads of the Decade award," Damon, 45, replied, standing by his side.

Damon and Affleck have been friends for years, having grown up together in Massachusetts. They won two Oscars in 1997 for Good Will Hunting and are now collaborating on an HBO movie called Thirst, a syfy thriller, and on an interactive competition series called The Runner.

Model Gigi Hadid also received honors at the annual Guys Choice Awards, walking away with the Our New Girlfriend award, saying that in real life, she has always been a "good girlfriend," E! online reported.

Just last week the 21-year-old model made news when word got out that she and Zayn Malik, 23, had split after dating for seven months.

Hadid said she asked for advice from a friend on what to say in her acceptance speech. "And she was like, "Try and think of like, something that you did [that was] mean to a crush in middle school and try to make a joke about that.' I was like, you know what? I have always been like, kind of like a good girlfriend! Like, even in middle school when I had crushes, like, I've always been like kind of nice!"
