NEW YORK, June 3 (UPI) -- Pusha T is one of the artists behind McDonald's famous "I'm Lovin' It" jingle, according to former record industry executive Steve Stoute.
While speaking with Ebro Darden and his team in an interview for Hot 97, Stoute corrected the assumption only Pharrell and Justin Timberlake were the jingle's masterminds.
"That's crazy that Pusha T wrote the song to McDonald's 'I'm Lovin' It.'" Stoute, who founded Traslation, a marketing company that was involved in the deal for the burger chain's jingle, said. Speaking of the dollar amount, Stoute said he couldn't remember, "but no one was upset."
Pusha T reacted to the interview on Twitter, saying, "Luckily no one tried to clown me for my McD's jingle...I woulda had to dig up pay stubs, I think u social media guys call that 'metrics.'"

Last year, Pharrell, who was thought the sole writer behind the song, revealed during an interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers he was fired from McDonald's three times, saying he was "only good at eating the chicken nuggets." In 2003, he had a hand in creating the ubiquitous jingle that is still part of the restaurant chain's marketing today.
"I couldn't believe it was happening," he said at the time.
During the rest of their interview, Stoute and Kaz discussed their brand The Stashed as well as its first print magazine. The latter industry professional also gave some rare accounts of life as a friend of Kobe Bryant, who recently retired from the NBA.
