LOS ANGELES, May 26 (UPI) -- Jennifer Aniston's mother, actress Nancy Dow has died at the age of 79.
"It is with great sadness that my brother John and I announce the passing of our Mother Nancy Dow. She was 79 years old and passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends after enduring a long illness," Aniston said in a statement Wednesday.
"We ask that our family's privacy be respected as we grieve our loss," she continued.
Dow had previously suffered a series of stroke's in 2011 and 2012.
Also a television star like her daughter, Dow was featured in The Beverly Hillbillies in 1966 and The Wild Wild West in 1967. Most recently, the former model appeared in the 2004 drama Pure.
While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in 2015, Aniston described her mother as being "gorgeous, stunning" while also being "very critical."
Dow was married to Aniston's father, Days of Our Lives actor John Aniston, from 1965 to 1980.
