ROME, May 18 (UPI) -- An Italian paramedic is on trial for allegedly stealing James Gandolfini's watch as the actor was dying in 2013, according to various reports.

Claudio Bevilacqua, 43, did not appear in the courtroom Monday and did not enter a plea. The judge later postponed the start of the trial until November.

Bevilacqua allegedly stole Gandolfini's $3,000 Rolex Submariner wristwatch, but it is not known when the watch actually disappeared. The late actor might have been wearing the watch when he collapsed or it might have gone missing from his hotel room later.

Bevilacqua was one of the paramedics trying to revive Gandolfini after the actor suffered a massive heart attack while on vacation with his wife and son in Rome in June 2013.

Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Gandolfini died shortly after at age 51.
