Jaime Camil of 'Jane The Virgin' joins Broadway's 'Chicago'

NEW YORK, May 17 (UPI) -- Jaime Camil is headed to Broadway to perform in the Grammy Award-winning musical, Chicago.

The Jane The Virgin actor, no stranger to the U.S. stage, will work with the production for five weeks playing the role of Billy Flynn.

He will begin his stint on May 31 and play the rule through July 3, the musical's producers confirmed ahead of the Jane The Virgin season finale Monday. On the CW series, Camil plays Rogelio de la Vega.

The Mexican star, well known for his roles in several Spanish-language television series and movies, will return to the Broadway stage over 10 years since his 2005 debut. At the time, Camil appeared in Latinologues.

In Mexico City, the actor has also played leading roles in West Side Story, Hook and Aladdin.

Broadway's Chicago currently stars Ryan Silverman in the Flynn role, and sees other famed stage actors including Bianca Marroquin, Amra-Faye Wright, Raymond Bokhour, NaTasha Yvette Williams and R. Lowe.
