Kid Rock's assistant found intoxicated during fatal ATV crash

NASHVILLE, May 13 (UPI) -- Kid Rock's assistant Mike Sacha was intoxicated during the time of his fatal ATV crash according to a new report.

Released Thursday by the medical examiner's office, the report reveals that Sacha had a blood-alcohol level of .20 percent, nearly three times the legal limit in Tennessee set at .08 where he died after ferrying guests on an ATV around Kid Rock's property in April.

After crashing the vehicle, Sacha suffered significant injuries to his head and neck. Kid Rock, real name Robert Ritchie, and a friend found Sacha the next morning and immediately called for help. Authorities arrived to discover the assistant lying face down and already deceased by the time they had arrived.

"Based on the circumstances and the collective findings, it is my opinion that the cause of death in this case is blunt force trauma; the manner is an accident," states the report, written by Assistant Medical Examiner Emily Dennison.

"He was a member of our family and one of the greatest young men I have ever had the pleasure to not only work with, but also to become friends with. I know I speak for us all in sharing my deepest condolences to his family," Ritchie said in a statement at the time. "I'm asking everyone to please respect our and his families' privacy in this difficult time. RIP Mike. We will never forget you, my friend."
