Katy Perry calls Orlando Bloom cheating rumors 'dumb'

LOS ANGELES, May 13 (UPI) -- Kate Perry has spoken out about recent rumors her beau Orlando Bloom was cheating on her with songstress Selena Gomez.

Calling the rumor a "dumb conspiracy," the "Roar" singer opted to take the high road and promote Bloom's recent trip to Ukraine for UNICEF instead.

"Instead of giving energy & eyeballs to dumb conspiracy," she wrote Thursday, "check out how COOL this is."

The singer added the hashtag "#dontfeedthebeast."

Selena Gomez, who was photographed cuddling with Bloom at a Las Vegas nightclub following the kick off of her Revival Tour, retweeted Perry's note, adding a praise emoji. The move seems to smooth over any animosity fans on social media expected to see, as many responded with shock and surprise on Twitter.

Later Thursday, Gomez added the tweet, "#killemwithkindness -one day they'll get it lol."

Over the weekend, Gomez and Bloom were spotted at Mandalay Bay Casino's Light nightclub with reports claiming the two became "touchy feely" and started "neck-nuzzling" in a booth. A source claimed the two went there separate ways, however, and Gomez "absolutely" went back to her room alone.
