NEW YORK, May 12 (UPI) -- Ryan Gosling is opening up about life with partner Eva Mendes and daughters Esmeralda and Amada.

The 35-year-old actor discussed his family on Thursday's episode of Good Morning America after welcoming Amada in April. The talk show showed an intense scene of Gosling and Russell Crowe in The Nice Guys before turning to his home life.

"It's heaven," the star said of living with all females before joking, "It's like walking through a field of flowers every day. I live with angels. It's a ray of sunshine in a dark time, honestly, because with Russell it's really sad. It's sad that we've turned out this way."

Gosling and Mendes have been together since 2011 and welcomed Esmeralda in 2014. News the couple welcomed a second daughter, Amada, broke this week after the pair managed to keep the pregnancy a secret.

"It sounds so clichéd, but I never knew that life could be this fun and this great," the actor recently told People. Gosling spoke to the magazine with Crowe and joked he won't be calling his co-star to babysit his daughters.

"I'm the best babysitter," Crowe, a dad of two, said in response. "He's just worried that I'd be teaching his daughters how to make cocktails, the right way to wear a beret -- things that he doesn't want them to know about yet."

The Nice Guys opens in theaters May 20 and co-stars Angourie Rice, Matt Bomer and Kim Basinger. Gosling is also slated for Blade Runner 2 and expressed excitement for the sequel in a recent interview.
