Joe Biden, John Cena join Prince Harry at Invictus Games

ORLANDO, Fla., May 12 (UPI) -- Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, joined Prince Harry at the Invictus Games wheelchair rugby finals in Orlando, Fla.

The Vice President took time to address the crowd Wednesday night, saying "You make a difference. Like the line in the poem [Invictus] says, 'They are the masters of their fate,' but what you also are, you're also the captains of your countries' soul. You are the spine. You are the backbone. Thanks for being who you are."

"It's an honor to be in the presence of so many warriors on the field, so many warriors off the field," he added, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Wrestler and American Grit host John Cena also participated in the Invictus Games this year as one of the Jaguar Land Rover ambassadors alongside Derek Hough. He also served as one of the coaches of the U.S. wheelchair rugby team with actor Wilmer Valderrama. Speaking with ABC, Cena said, "It is intense individuals driven by the sense of competition and what the Invictus Games does is give them a chance to compete."

"You're dealing with competitors, and I think it's a great outlet for them to come out, to be able to compete in sport, to be able to be on the main stage. It truly is a wonderful thing what Prince Harry and the Invictus Games have done," Cena said.

The U.S. wheelchair rugby team won gold Wednesday night in a final game against Denmark with a score of 29 to 19.

The Invictus Games will come to a close Thursday night with a massive ceremony featuring musical performances by Rachel Platten, Rascal Flatts, and Phillip Phillips, Flo Rida, Jordan Smith from The Voice and the wounded warrior band, Vetted.

Prince Harry will also recognize the competitors for their achievements over the four-day competition, the Invictus website explained, with a handover of the Invictus Games flag to the committee planning next year's games in Toronto.
