LOS ANGELES, May 12 (UPI) -- A representative of Caitlyn Jenner said a recent report from The Wrap claiming she has considered "de-transitioning," and may do so in the future, is "not true."

Writer Ian Halperin, author of Kardashian Dynasty: The Controversial Rise of America's Royal Family, told The Wrap Jenner had been leading a "miserable" life since transitioning from male to female, saying a source confirmed Jenner is experiencing "sex change regret."

Halperin asserted that although Jenner, who stars in the reality show I Am Cait, was "thrilled" to speak out on behalf of the transgender community and bring awareness to transgender issues, the celebrity and former Olympic athlete may return to presenting as male.

"I don't think it would surprise anybody in her inner circle," Halperin said. "It has been much harder than she anticipated. My heart goes out to her and I know her true friends will be there to support her on whatever path she chooses."

Speaking with Gossip Cop, Jenner's rep claimed Halperin's comment was "the dumbest statement of the day," while telling the New York Daily News the assertion was "idiotic" and "not worth commenting on."

"Of course it's not true," the rep added.
