LOS ANGELES, May 10 (UPI) -- Kristen Stewart is opening up about her much-discussed dating life.
The 26-year-old actress addressed rumors about her sexuality in the May issue of Variety. Stewart previously dated Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson and has since been linked to Alicia Cargile and Stephanie Sokolinski, aka SoKo.
"When I was dating a guy, I would never talk about my relationships to anyone. I feel the same way now," Stewart said of her reluctance to discuss her personal life before adding, "I'm not hiding [expletive]."
"There's acceptance that's become really rampant and cool," she said of young people's desire to love without labels. "Me not defining [my sexuality] right now is the whole basis of what I'm about. If you don't get it, I don't have time for you."
Stewart didn't use the word "girlfriend" but said she's comfortable with being photographed with female love interests in public. The actress said it's "really important" to her that young fans see the pictures and know that she's being her genuine self.
"As much as I want to protect myself, it's not about hiding," she asserted. "As soon as you start throwing up so many walls, you cannot see over them yourself, so you just start isolating in a way that's not honest. I definitely found where I'm comfortable."
Stewart was last linked to singer SoKo, but reportedly split from the French star prior to the Met gala. The actress previously addressed her sexuality in the September issue of Nylon, saying doesn't feel the need to come out.
"Google me, I'm not hiding," she told the magazine. "If you feel like you really want to define yourself, and you have the ability to articulate those parameters and that in itself defines you, then do it."
