LONDON, April 21 (UPI) -- Television bake-off champion Nadiya Hussain came through on the opportunity to bake a birthday cake for Queen Elizabeth on her 90th birthday.

The queen stood before the cake Thursday while friends and loved ones sang "Happy Birthday." Hussain, winner of England's popular show Great British Bake Off, stood smiling to her right during the song.

The British Monarchy tweeted a video of the celebratory event soon afterward.

Hussain, a mother of three, baked a three-tier orange drizzle cake for the queen this year despite the customary practice calling for a classic fruit cake.

The One Show aired footage of Hussain's baking process Wednesday night, showing the reality star commentating why she chose orange over grapefruit, believing the choice might be "a bit out there."

"It's such an honor to be doing this. I just don't want to disappoint the queen," she emphasized during the clip.

On Thursday, the baker shared photos of her preparations, which included two bags of oranges, a crate of eggs, flour and butter.
