MOLINE, Ill., April 16 (UPI) -- Music superstar Prince, who has been battling the flu for weeks, was briefly hospitalized in Illinois.
His representative told People magazine his private plane made an emergency landing Friday morning and the Grammy Award-winner was transported to a hospital in Moline where he was treated and released three hours later.
Prince, 57, is now recuperating at home.
He was forced to re-schedule two shows last week due to his illness, but felt well enough to perform in Atlanta Thursday night before relapsing.
Prince announced in March he plans to publish his memoir The Beautiful Ones in 2017.
