LOS ANGELES, April 12 (UPI) -- Gwyneth Paltrow, known for her zest for all things health and wellness, said people would be surprised to know she loves French fries and martinis.

While answering questions from fans in promotion of her third book, It's All Easy, the Goop founder and Mortdecai actress said although she'd rather do crack cocaine instead of eat spray cheese, she does occasionally indulge in things that are considered unhealthy.

When asked about the most surprising detail about herself by one of her readers, Paltrow said "I really enjoy food that can be considered bad for you, like martinis and french fries. If left to my own devices, I'll sleep for 10 hours a night. And I'm harder on myself than anybody else could ever be."

Of her early success, the celebrity said she feels lucky to be able to step back from acting to focus on her family and other projects. One of the "best things" about her success, she said, is "that I felt freed to step out of it, and follow the incredible instinct I had to basically stay home for three or four years."

"This is an incredible luxury, and I'm well aware that not every woman has it, so I feel insanely grateful for that initial hiatus, which turned into what I would call a sporadic film career," she added.

Last week, the 43-year-old outlined her experience trying apitherapy -- or being stung by bees -- as a beauty treatment.

"Generally, I'm open to anything," Paltrow said at the time. "I've been stung by bees. It's a thousands of years old treatment called apitherapy. People use it to get rid of inflammation and scarring. It's actually pretty incredible if you research it. But man, it's painful."
