NEW YORK, March 25 (UPI) -- Peter Brant Jr., son of supermodel Stephanie Seymour and businessman Peter M. Brant, was reportedly involved in an altercation leaving at least one cop hospitalized.

The 22-year-old model became irate when JetBlue employees refused to allow him onto a plane set for West Palm Beach, Florida, according to New York Daily News. Brant reportedly prompted a scuffle with a Port Authority officer who was later treated for a sprained right arm in a nearby hospital.

A Port Authority spokesman claimed the young socialite was "severely intoxicated" at the time.

Mother Stephanie Seymour's lawyer, Philip Russell, released a statement regarding the incident, calling her son Brant's behavior "out of character."

"I think it's fair to say that this incident is something one would expect when spring break hijinks collide with the heightened security in the wake of the Brussels tragedy," Russell said, referencing the recent terrorist attacks in Belgium which left at least 31people dead.

Brant is reportedly expected to be arraigned for assault and related charges.

The news comes shortly after his mother, Seymour, was arrested for driving whilst under the influence. She refused a sobriety test at the time.

In early February, reports said the former supermodel was aiming to stay in rehab following a car crash which led up to a DUI charge.
