ANCHORAGE, Alaska, March 3 (UPI) -- Television personality Sig Hansen was airlifted to the hospital after experiencing serious chest pains at sea.

The Deadliest Catch skipper is reportedly "in good spirits" since arriving at the hospital Wednesday, according to a statement from the television show's official Twitter feed.

Reps say Hansen initially insisted on remaining at sea and continuing with their day, but "the crew insisted that they dock to get help" instead, according to the tweets.

Hansen's daughter shared a photo of herself with her dad from an Anchorage hospital, the since-deleted post revealing he did in fact have a heart attack.

"Capt survived the 'widowmaker'!! Beating a heart attack ain't easy. Welcome back boss," Mandy Marie Hansen reportedly wrote in the post.

Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch premiered in 2005 and has since run for 11 seasons. The next season of the seafaring show premiers in March.
