NEW YORK, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Recording artist Sean Lennon denied speculation that his 83-year-old mother, artist Yoko Ono, was hospitalized in New York Friday because she suffered a stroke.

"Hey guys it was only rumors from press: was NOT a stroke, just dehydration/tired. She is FINE. Thank you everyone for your concern," Lennon tweeted.

"Only stroke @yokoono had was a Stroke of Genius! :-) She's really fine. Thanks for all the well wishes! Big Love, Sean," he later wrote in an update.

The New York Post said Ono was taken by ambulance to Mount Sinai West hospital, which was formerly known as Roosevelt and the same place where her husband, John Lennon, died after he was shot by deranged fan Mark David Chapman on Dec. 8, 1980 in Manhattan.
