DETROIT, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- The former heir to the throne, Shane McMahon has returned to the WWE demanding control of the company's weekly flagship show, Raw.

The prodigal son made his surprising return Monday after a six year absence interrupting his father Vince McMahon from bestowing the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award to his sister, Stephanie McMahon.

Much to the crowd's delight, Shane proceeded to call out the established Authority and how Stephanie and her COO husband, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H have run the company into the ground.

After revealing that he wanted to take control of Raw, Vince agreed if only Shane could win a match at WrestleMania against none other than The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match.

With a legendary WrestleMania record of 22-1, The Undertaker is near unbeatable at the event and represents the near impossible odds Shane faces. Despite this, he still agreed to the match determined to take his rightful place at the company.

Other notable moments from Raw included Brock Lesnar accepting a match against Dean Ambrose for WrestleMania and Triple H beating his Mania opponent Roman Reigns to a bloody pulp following his victory at WWE Fastlane.
