'Golden Girls' characters to be reimagined as Funko Pop! figurines

EVERETT, Wash., Feb. 17 (UPI) -- The main characters of popular sitcom Golden Girls are getting their very own Funko Pop! figurines.

Toy company founder Brian Mariotti recently teased the new vinyl designs for Sophia, Rose, Blanche and Dorothy on Instagram, although he did not mention a release date.

"Golden Girls POP! Concept Art from Funko 2016 Catalog!" Mariotti wrote on his Instagram post. The catalog was reportedly featured at the Toy Fair 2016 in New York. The fair ran between Feb. 13 and Feb. 16.

Funko has gained immense popularity by consumers of all ages for its vinyl figure collections highlighting everything from the nostalgic to the trendy. They specialize in cartoonized figures of major pop-culture characters from Frozen's Elsa to Deadpool.
