LONDON, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Monica Lewinsky has introduced an app to help express support for victims of cyberbullying.
The #BeStrong Emoji Keyboard App is a set of emojis created in collaboration with Lewinsky and the British carrier Vodafone.
The app was released ahead of World Safer Internet Day on Tuesday.
In an article for Vanity Fair Lewinsky wrote: "Thousands of people are bullied online—daily...it's worth considering not only the many ways people can feel unsafe online but also new methods to help limit abusive behavior—or, at least, to blunt the emotional fallout. Support—whether it's from friends or strangers—matters. Trust me on this. In today's world, particularly online and especially for younger people, support—knowing you are not alone—is vital and can even save lives."
The magazine posted a preview of the new symbols on Twitter.

"Compassion can be contagious," Lewinsky told People magazine.
"Had social media [been] around in 1998, the thought of the hashtags alone makes me want to run to a therapy session. But what would have been positive was that not only would I have been able to see when someone made a supportive comment, but others would have, too."
She continued by saying, "that is what is at the heart of the #BeStrong emojis: for people–especially teens–to feel less alone when these incidents happen online."
Lewinsky received worldwide attention as a White House intern who had an affair with then-President Bill Clinton.
