LOS ANGELES, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Jaden Smith is the lucky new owner of a Tesla Model X.

The 17-year-old actor bought and received the car this week, months before the vehicle even hit the market. Those first on the lengthy waiting list for the electric-powered SUV are expected to get their models in mid-to-late 2016.

"Watching my lil bro get the keys to his first car #priceless #1of1 #tesla #betonACE #jadensmith #congrats," Smith's half-brother, Trey Smith, captioned a photo of his sibling in front of the coveted vehicle.

The highly-anticipated model boasts 257 miles of range per battery charge and is estimated to cost $130,000. Tesla CEO Elon Musk personally canceled a blogger's order on the waiting list this week after the writer complained about a Model X launch event.

"Must be a slow news day if denying service to a super rude customer gets this much attention," Musk tweeted Wednesday.

Smith is son to actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, and brother to singer Willow Smith. He starred with his dad in The Pursuit of Happyness and After Earth, and will play Marcus on Baz Luhrmann's forthcoming Netflix series, The Get Down.
