LOS ANGELES, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Actress Selma Blair, who will portray Kris Jenner in the FX series The People v. O.J. Simpson, says taking the role has helped her gain Jenner as a real-life friend.

Speaking with E News, Blair described the famous Kardashian-Jenner matriarch as a "warm, and generous and open and giving woman," and despite the upcoming series not centering on Jenner, the late Nicole Brown Simpson "was her best friend."

"I love Kris," she said. "She just told me really intimate, sweet things about their friendship, [like] the guacamole that she made...it was nice to have little personal things in my back pocket, and to realize that Kris loved her."

In late January, Jenner reflected on her friendship with the late Nicole Brown Simpson, saying she and O.J. Simpson "were two of the best friends I ever had in my entire life. They were my family. O.J. was like my big brother. So I not only mourned the loss of Nicole, but I mourned the loss of O.J. and that relationship."
