Ariel Winter flaunts breast reduction scars, says she is 'not ashamed'

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Ariel Winters didn't attempt to hide her scars from a recent breast reduction at the SAG Awards.

The 18-year-old Modern Family actress instead revealed she wasn't embarrassed by the marks, writing on Twitter they "are a part of me and I'm not ashamed of them at all."

Wearing a flowing black strapless gown, Winter flaunted her frame, including the appearance of slight imperfections on the side of her breasts. "There is a reason I didn't make an effort to cover up my scars!" she said Sunday's tweet.

Speaking with People after her June surgery, Winter predicted her breast reduction will be the only time she'll go under the knife for plastic surgery, "but I'm extremely happy with the decision I made," she said.

"It's important to talk about it because there are young girls suffering like I did," she added, "but there shouldn't be a stigma about it."
