The 28-year-old American actress discussed her status with the 35-year-old retired NHL player on Friday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Duff confirmed the split following rumors the couple were considering a reconciliation.
"We have such a great kid and we're both so obsessed with him," she said of their 3-year-old son Luca. "We are good friends and we laugh a lot. We have a great communication -- we share pictures and stories ... He's great, we're great, and we keep on trucking."
Duff and Comrie were separated over a year before the actress filed for divorce in February. The couple were often spotted together after their split, and Duff acknowledged their relationship status may be confusing for fans in a 2014 interview.
"We're constantly seen together and everyone's like, 'What are they doing? Are they back together or are they not?" she told E! News. "We love each other so much and we really love spending time together. So when you see us out it's not just for Luca."
Duff and Comrie married in August 2010 and welcomed Luca in March 2012. The actress admitted to often feeling guilt as a single mom in the February issue of Redbook, but said she doesn't need to marry again to have another child.
Duff came to fame as the title character on Disney Channel sitcom Lizzie McGuire, and went on to play Olivia Burke on The CW series Gossip Girl. She presently portrays Kelsey Peters on TV Land drama Younger, which airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m ET.
