HOLLYWOOD, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Actor David Duchovny attended his Walk of Fame ceremony on Monday, hours before the second episode of the freshly revived X-Files series aired.

During the ceremony, attended by X-Files creator Chris Carter, Duchovny said receiving the honor was "a cool thing to happen," according to Variety.

"I grew up on 11th Street and Second Avenue in New York and the Second Avenue Deli was (a block away). They had their own walk of fame in front of the deli with stars of David on the street," he said. "I thought maybe I'd get one of those one day, but this is even better."

The actor famously portrays Fox "Spooky" Mulder in the limited X-Files series reboot, and has been since the show's commencement in 1998. Speaking to the crowd, Duchovny reportedly said seeing the star is "something special and something to reflect upon I think"

Other than X-Files, on which he stars opposite Gillian Anderson, Duchovny also appears in Showtime's Californication and Aquarius.

Duchovny received his star directly after rapper and actor LL Cool J, who received his last week. "I'm grateful," the rapper said, "this is pretty big for me."
