LOS ANGELES, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Sofia Vergara filed a $15 million lawsuit against non-surgical beauty company Venus Concept Monday over unauthorized use of her image.

The Modern Family actress and spokeswoman claims, in court papers obtained by People, the Los Angeles-based company used her likeness without permission for marketing purposes.

"Vergara tried the Legacy treatment, but ultimately did not like it, finding that it was a waste of time and money with little in the way of any results," the lawsuit reportedly reads.

The suit stems from a 2014 selfie Vergara posted to Instagram from inside Venus Concept, since then, the company is reported to have repeatedly used her likeness to promote itself online and at trade shows. The Wrap reports months after the selfie, Venus Concept doctors appeared on an episode of Extra, using the photo to promote its skin-tightening treatment.

Despite mentioning the company's Legacy massage, the legal document asserts Vergara would not recommend it, nor would she "use it again."
