LOS ANGELES, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Rapper and actor Ice Cube says he hopes to reunite the surviving members of iconic group N.W.A. at the Coachella music festival this year.

Speaking with hosts of CBS' The Talk on Friday, Cube, born O'Shea Jackson, said he had "some tricks up my sleeve."

"I'm gonna try to bring the members of N.W.A. together ... give everybody a little history lesson on Ice Cube and N.W.A., West Side Connection, everything I've been doing over the years," he said to applause. "It's going to be a great night ... same night Guns N' Roses get back together."

Ice Cube's hints to the return of N.W.A. at the California music festival comes soon after the release of the group's biopic, Straight Outta Compton, starring his son, O'Shea Jackson, in his father's role. Outlets say the once rocky relationship between Cube and founding member Dr. Dre has improved since.

The group hasn't performed together in more than 25 years, during which vital member Eazy-E died from complications from AIDS.

The full Coachella lineup was released in early January, including also A$AP Rocky, Calvin Harris, Chris Stapleton, Elle Goulding, LCD Soundsystem and Guns N' Roses as headliners.
