Justin Bieber shows off new lavendar hairdo in Instagram photos

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Canadian-born pop singer Justin Bieber showed off his new look on Instagram this weekend.

The 21-year-old Grammy winner posted four photos featuring his freshly tinted lavendar locks.

Two images are mirror selfies in which Bieber's purplish hair is slicked back and he is wearing nothing but a towel, while a pair of other photos show his tresses combed forward as he sits -- dressed in a sweatshirt and cargo pants -- on the hood of a parked Ferrari in a garage.

One of the mirror selfies includes the caption, "back in the gym."

Bieber, who usually has blonde or sandy brown hair, did not explain what inspired him to shake up his look for 2016.
