Rupert Murdoch, Jerry Hall are engaged

LONDON, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch and former model Jerry Hall are now engaged.

The couple announced the news Tuesday inside the births, marriages and death's section of the London-based Times newspaper, which is owned by News Corp.

"Mr Rupert Murdoch, father of Prudence, Elisabeth, Lachlan, James, Grace and Chloe Murdoch, and Miss Jerry Hall, mother of Elizabeth, James, Georgia and Gabriel Jagger, are delighted to announce their engagement," the passage reads.

Murdoch and Hall's relationship became public in October after they attended the Rugby World Cup final together. The 84-year-old media mogul met the 59-year-old actress through his sister and niece while in Australia over the summer.

The newspaper quoted a spokesman for the Murdoch family, who said, "They have loved these past months together, are thrilled to be getting married and excited about their future."

This will be Murdoch's fourth marriage following his divorce from Wendi Deng in 2013 after 14 years of marriage, and Hall's first after she dated Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger for more than 20 years. Murdoch has six children across his multiple marriages while Hall has four children from her relationship with Jagger.
