Pierce Brosnan's producing partner Beau St. Clair dies of cancer

MALIBU, Calif., Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Pierce Brosnan's longtime producing partner Beau St. Clair died of ovarian cancer during the weekend.

The Hollywood Reporter said Brosnan was by her side just hours before she died at her home in Malibu Saturday night.

Brosnan's wife, actress Cassandra Harris, died of ovarian cancer in 1991, and Harris' daughter Charlotte, whom Brosnan raised as his own, died of the disease in 2013.

"Our wonderful friend, Beau Marie St Clair died peacefully in her sleep last night," her friend Nancy Ellison wrote in a Facebook post Sunday.

"You may not recognize her name but I bet you may have seen the movies she produced along with her partner, Pierce Brosnan: The Thomas Crown Affair, Matador and The November Man (to name only a few.) She grew up a surfer girl in Malibu, riding her horse on the beach. She died working on post production of I.T. and doing rewrites for one of their next projects - November Man 2. That is how she wanted it. Rest in Peace dear BeauZeau."

St. Clair formed the Irish DreamTime production company with Brosnan in 1996. Their collaborations also include How to Make Love Like an Englishman, The Greatest, The Laws of Attraction, Evelyn and Shattered. Her other credits include the remake of Rollerball, The Mosquito Coast, Deception, Hideaway, Race the Sun and The Edge.

Brosnan has credited St. Clair with getting him to play a spy again in November Man after he starred in several James Bond thrillers.

"She and I had made numerous films, The Thomas Crown Affair and The Matador, so we had a good friendship and understanding of each other's lives and lived so much life together with families and the Bond was so big and mighty in my career and it is the gift that just keeps giving and I wouldn't be here today, in the company of you all talking about November Man, if it hadn't been for James Bond," Brosnan told UPI while promoting November Man in New York in 2014.
