Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer star in Balmain ad

NEW YORK, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer recently reunited for Balmain.

The French haute couture house released photos of the 49-year-old American, 45-year-old English and 45-year-old German models from the brand's spring/summer 2016 ad campaign Thursday.

Crawford, Campbell and Schiffer attained stardom in the 1990s, and were known as the Big Five supermodels, along with Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista. The group were heavily in demand, dominating magazine covers, fashion runways and advertisements.

"It's a new chapter for Balmain," creative director Olivier Rousteing told Vogue. "This campaign is about what makes me love fashion, and these three women are exactly that. These three women are what made me love fashion yesterday, make me love fashion today, and are going to make me love fashion in the future."

"Still today, many years on, their iconic images are often found amongst the jumble on mood boards in my (and almost every other designers') atelier," he added in a statement. "To say that working with them was a dream come true is no exaggeration."

Balmain is a favorite among such celebrities as Kim Kardashian and Rihanna, and previously featured Kendall and Kylie Jenner and Gigi and Bella Hadid for a sisters-themed campaign. Crawford and daughter Kaia Gerber showed their support for the brand at the Balmain x H&M launch party in November.
