The 51-year-old actress and 52-year-old actor, who will reprise Becky and Jesse Katsopolis on Fuller House, debated as much in the Jan. 18 issue of People. The pair went on a date as teenagers prior to starring on Full House.
"He asked me to go to Disneyland to see a band," Loughlin recalled. "We fight internally about [whether it was a date]. I'm like, 'Was that a date?' He's like, 'Yeah!'"
"As I recall, we ended up kissing," Stamos added. "That sounds like a date, right?"
Loughlin and Stamos co-starred on Full House from 1987 to 1995, but fans of the on-screen couple never had their off-screen hopes realized. The actress was married to Michael R. Burns from 1989 to 1996 and wed Mossimo Giannulli the next year, while Stamos was married to Rebecca Romijn from 1998 to 2005.
"We did have some off-timing, but no disrespect to her family and her husband now, I would say that she could be the one that got away," Stamos previously told HuffPost Live. "She's one of my dearest friends, and that's enough. But I really do adore her."
Loughlin and Stamos are among the many Full House stars who will return on Netflix sequel series Fuller House premiering Feb. 26. The new show will focus on an adult D.J. Tanner (Candace Cameron Bure) as she raises her children with the help of sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber).
Loughlin and Giannulli have two daughters, 17-year-old Isabella and 16-year-old Olivia. Stamos also stars on the Fox sitcom Grandfathered, which co-stars Paget Brewster, Josh Peck and Christina Milian, and airs Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. ET.
