ATLANTA, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Adult Swim's fan-favorite animated series Rick and Morty will soon be featured in a new mobile game inspired by Pokémon.

The game entitled Pocket Mortys was announced on Twitter Tuesday along with a short gif showing off the title's heavy Pokémon influence featuring Rick being challenged to a turn-based battle.

The title, a reference to Pokémon's older Japanese moniker of Pocket Monsters, will be made available on both iOS and Android devices.

"Pocket Mortys. Mobile. January 14th." the company tweeted with Adult Swim games senior producer Chris Johnston later posting that the game would be a free download and more substantial then previous games based on the show.

Series co-creator Dan Harmon has also been confirmed to have provided voice work for the game.

Rick and Morty, a popular show on Cartoon Network's late-night block of television Adult Swim, follows the misadventures of scientist Rick and his grandson Morty as they travel through different dimensions, often getting into trouble.

Back in August, the network announced that the series had been renewed for a third season with no concrete release date for new episodes announced.
