LOS ANGELES, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- For the second year in a row, Kanye West has earned the distinction of being named GQ magazines Most Stylish Man.

The fan voted contest saw the rap mogul earn over 500,000 votes through Twitter, enough to beat out model Lucky Blue Smith who wasn't too far behind with 445,073 votes.

According to the men's magazine, West's extended Kardashian family helped push him over the edge in voting with help from his wife Kim Kardashian, sister-in-laws Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian and mother-in-law Kris Jenner who all tweeted to their millions of followers to vote for the 38-year-old.

On his way to the title, West was able to win out against soccer star Mario Balotelli, frequent collaborator and friend Jay-Z, Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton, and Game of Thrones star Kit Harington.

Kanye himself had an eventful year in the fashion world including the debut of his Yeezy label during New York Fashion Week and the instant sell-out of his Yeezy Boosts sneakers. West was also seen as a trend setter in 2015 with GQ writing, "West's own wardrobe is studied, tracked and blogged about with an amount of fervor usually reserved for female stars (like the rapper/designer's own headline-grabbing wife)."

"Every piece West wears sparks a discussion on the current state of menswear," GQ continued.

West made headlines earlier this month when it was revealed that he showered his wife with 150 presents for Christmas.
