LOS ANGELES, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Goldie Hawn says her 32-year relationship with actor Kurt Russell is the product of patience and a decision to stay together.

Speaking with People about her love-life, the 70-year-old actress said she and Russell, 64, still have "our ups and downs like everybody else."

"You have to want to stay together, and we really want to," she added. "Therefore you work to be together."

Russell's most recent project, Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight, features him as bounty hunter John Ruth transporting his latest fugitive Daisy Domergue, played by Jennifer Jason Leigh. He has also confirmed his participation in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, set for 2017.

With Russell remaining busy with his work, Hawn claimed she and he "don't have a perfect relationship...Sometimes I get mad and sometimes Kurt gets mad. It's normal. Continuing to listen and grow is important because we get into bad habits in relationships. We're cognizant of these things in our relationships, being mindful and caring and listening."
