LOS ANGELES, Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Comedian Steve Harvey mocked himself on social media for bungling the crowning of this year's Miss Universe.

"Merry Easter y'all!," Harvey tweeted on Christmas Friday, alongside a photo of him smiling and smoking a cigar near an in-ground pool festooned with evergreen and red ribbons.

Harvey wrongfully declared Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as the winner of last weekend's Miss Universe pageant. Gutierrez was actually the first runner-up while Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach had earned the title.

Harvey quickly attempted to fix his mistake, but the damage was done.

"Ok., folks, uh, there's. ... I have to apologize," he told the confused crowd Sunday before announcing Wurtzbach as the rightful winner. "Let me just take control of this. This is exactly what's on the card. I will take responsibility for this. It was my mistake. It was on the card."

Harvey has been the punchline of countless jokes by social-media users and late-night comedians since the high-profile error.
