A look at the stars who took to the courtroom to settle their disputes.
Rapper 50 Cent aka Curtis James Jackson III filed a lawsuit against Rick Ross on December 23 claiming he allegedly used samples from Jackson's 2003 hit single "In Da Club" in his latest mixtape Ranzel Remixes. Jackson's complaint states Ross "violated 50 Cent's rights" and "should be held liable." The rapper is reportedly seeking $2 million from the lawsuit.
Lil Wayne's former lawyer Michael Kramer sued the rapper on December 21 over reportedly failing to pay $375,239 in legal bills from a 2013 lawsuit between himself and Cash Money Records. Legal documents state Kramer "made numerous attempts to resolve the dispute amicably," but was unsuccessful.
British singer Rita Ora filed a lawsuit against Jay-Z's music label Roc Nation on December 17 claiming the company has so diversified in the last few years that she has been left "orphaned." The complaint states Ora has been "self-funding her promotional television appearances, recording costs and video projects" as of late and cites California's "seven-year rule" in her attempt to end her contract with the label.
Everette Silas and Sherri Littleton filed a lawsuit against Dwayne Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, HBO and Ballers creator Stephen Levinson on December 17 claiming the concept for the show was stolen by Mayhem production company. Silas and Littleton claim in legal documents that Ballers "borrows heavily from the Materials" and "certain aesthetic elements" from a show they worked on called Off Season. The series -- which would also star Johnson and Wahlberg -- didn't make it past the negotiation stage in 2008.
Photographer Richard Terry is suing Coldplay frontman Chris Martin for allegedly hitting him with a car in January. In legal documents obtained in December, Terry claims Martin was driving a Jeep with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow in the passenger seat when the singer did a sharp turn and knocked him to the ground. The documents accuse Martin of fleeing the scene without checking on Terry and mention his "significant history of repeated and ongoing violent acts" against the paparazzi.
