LOS ANGELES, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- NeNe Leakes got a verbal invite from Whoopi Goldberg to return to The View after saying her last experience was less than sweet.

While appearing alongside host Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live Wednesday, Goldberg was asked by a fan what she thought about Leakes' recent criticism, where she claimed the show's co-hosts were "unkind."

"Come on! Really, NeNe?" 60-year-old Goldberg said on hearing the news. "You know, I don't know what -- Did somebody say something that she didn't like?"

Cohen filled in the gaps for Goldberg, relaying Leakes' specific complaints about her, Raven-Symone and Joy Behar.

"Well, then, you know, come back another day and try again," the actress said. "I don't know what to say."

Goldberg is well known for her work in the 1985 film The Color Purple with Oprah Winfrey and Danny Glover. The film turns 30 years old this week.
