Jennifer Lawrence wanted to ask Seth Meyers on a date

NEW YORK, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Jennifer Lawrence was once interested in Seth Meyers.

The 25-year-old actress admitted as much to the 41-year-old talk show host during an appearance Tuesday on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Lawrence developed an instant crush on Meyers when she hosted Saturday Night Live in January 2013.

"I had a really big crush on you, and so I had this whole plan," she revealed. "All week I was like, 'He's going to ask me out. He's totally going to ask me out.' Then later in the week I was like, 'I'm going to ask him out.' I had created the romance in my head because I'm delusional."

"Thank God I talked to the wardrobe lady and I was like, 'I think I'm going to ask Seth Meyers out. I'm going to give him my number,'" she recalled. "She was like, 'Honey, he's engaged.' I was like, 'Cool! Good talk! Ah!' It was so long ago that now I feel like I could tell you."

Meyers married attorney Alexi Ashe in September 2013, and announced they are expecting their first child in November. The talk show host previously told Your Tango it was "love at first sight" when he met Ashe at SNL actor Chris Kattan's wedding in 2008.

"I had a sense that she was the closest I'd ever met to someone who I could see myself with," he shared. "My wife is a very smart woman, smarter than me. [She is also] sillier than I am so that makes me laugh a great deal. I make her laugh, too."

Lawrence also admitted to having a crush on Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David, whom she reportedly gave her number to with no results. The actress last appeared in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 and will next star in Joy with Robert De Niro.
